Hello,

My name is Jenny and I am the Founder of EMDR Therapy Group – thank you for visiting! I specialize in helping adults and couples break unhelpful patterns so that they can enjoy healthy, balanced lives.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#3783) and a Certified EMDR Therapist, I work with brave individuals who desire to make meaningful changes in their lives. I am regularly inspired by the long-lasting change that people experience as they heal from painful experiences with the help of EMDR. I love seeing people’s look of wonder after an EMDR reprocessing session!

I am a geek at heart and I love learning J I completed a Master’s of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology at the Adler University and attended the University of British Columbia for both my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and my Diploma in Guidance Studies. My post-graduate training includes Trauma (PTSD and Complex PTSD), Attachment Theory, Chronic Pain, and Adlerian Therapy. My clients’ trust in working with me motivates me to pursue on-going training and therapy so that I can offer my best, inside and outside the counselling room.

My approach to therapy is based on warmth, compassion, respect, and acceptance – I truly believe that a trusting and non-judgmental counselling relationship is essential for good therapy. I am an inquisitive, playful, and encouraging person so those qualities are embedded in my practice. If you would like a therapist who can sit with your pain AND share laughs with you, I could be a good fit!

In addition to private practice, I have worked as a Parent Support Counsellor and a Child and Family Counsellor at Cameray Child and Family Services, and as a Clinical Counsellor at the Burnaby Youth Clinic. I currently work with the EMDR Center of Canada, which is an EMDR training program for therapists. I am committed to encouraging positive growth in the community and to promote the development of skilled EMDR therapists. My hope is to expand my roles in the community in the years to come.
